Job description
The System Administrator’s role at ResNexus includes the maintenance, configuration and operation of computer systems and servers. The admin installs hardware and software, and participates in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with business needs. System administrators actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems and provide IT support to ResNexus employees.
System administrators will coordinate and complete an annual PCI Compliance audit.
We expect an applicant to have fundamental knowledge of various technologies and a stellar attitude. You will be expected to take full ownership of the position., At a high level, the position covers the following responsibilities:

Windows Server Administration

Database Administration (MS SQL)

Monitoring & Maintenance

Account & Email Management
-
Firewalls & Security
-
Network Administration
-
IT & Inventory
-
PCI Compliance
At a day-to-day level, responsibilities will include the following:
-
Manage and configure Windows web and database servers (MS SQL)
-
Manage Active Directory, application, email, and other user accounts
-
Manage general network security (specifically Dell SonicWall firewalls and Imperva web application firewall)
-
Take point on annual PCI compliance audits and regular maintenance tasks
-
Be on call for server and network incidents
-
Complete late night maintenance each month and apply other software patches regularly
-
Manage and configure office workstations, including general desktop support, hardware issues, account lockouts, etc.

Maintain & organize inventory and related documentation
-
Perform security training for developers
-
Troubleshoot and solve problems

Elevate our database architecture by introducing High Availability and database syncing across multiple locations

Elevate our web architecture by introducing geographic diversity

Introduce additional features into our architecture from AWS and other cloud services

Develop tools to simplify documentation and compliance
Requirements
-
Need to have or be nearing completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
-
Ability to work independently and systematically, with strong attention to detail
-
Ability to communicate technical information in a way that can be understood by non-technical individuals
-
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
-
A foundation in basic networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, etc.)
-
A foundation in basic firewall & router configuration (Access rules, NAT, subnets)
-
A foundation in Windows troubleshooting
-
Must work out of our Salem, Utah, location. We do not offer relocation options or work-from-home opportunities.
Additional Qualifications: Knowledge and/or experience with the following topics is a plus:

Software & hardware troubleshooting

Windows tools: Event Viewer, Command Prompt, PowerShell, etc.

Cyber security topics: XSS, OWASP, injection, hardening, logging, monitoring
-
Major technologies: Windows, Active Directory, Google Workspace, AWS, MS SQL
-
Network technologies: NTP, NAT, PAT, Ethernet wiring, switches
-
Email technologies: SMTP, DMARC, SPF
-
Security technologies: SSL, PKI, Syslog, web application firewall, firewalls
-
Scaling technologies: High Availability, Load Balancing, CDN
-
Backups, * Bachelor’s (Preferred)
Experience:
- System administration: 3 years (Preferred)
Ability to Commute:
- Salem, UT 84653 (Required)
