Job description

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia., WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

Providing senior-level advisory support to leadership by analyzing complex IT, cybersecurity, and systems issues and developing executive briefings, reports, and strategic recommendations.

Preparing and delivering executive-level briefings and presentations on IT initiatives, operational risks, compliance activities, and modernization efforts to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Coordinating with IT and program offices to support IT governance, strategic planning, and alignment of technology initiatives with federal objectives and organizational priorities., * Documentation that you present for purposes of completing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 will be verified through the DHS “E-Verify” System.

Requirements

Applicants for the 2210 Information Technology Management series at the GS-14 grade level must have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least ALL of the following:

  • Providing senior-level IT advisory support by analyzing complex IT, cybersecurity, data, and systems issues and developing executive briefing materials, reports, and correspondence for leadership.
  • Preparing and delivering written and oral briefings on IT initiatives, operational risks, compliance activities, and modernization efforts to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with IT and program offices to support IT governance and strategic planning efforts and ensure alignment with federal IT objectives and organizational priorities., Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
