Job description

The business has recognised data as a strategic asset and has recently invested in leadership and technology to create a modern, enterprise-wide data capability. As part of this greenfield transformation, they’re looking for an experienced Data Architect to take ownership of the organisation’s data platform strategy and design.

This is a role offering autonomy, visibility with senior stakeholders and the chance to make a lasting impact across the entire business.

As the Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing and governing the enterprise data platform, creating a scalable and secure foundation for reporting, analytics, AI, and future innovation.

Working closely with executive stakeholders and technology leadership, you’ll define the architectural vision while driving the implementation of a modern Lakehouse and Data Warehouse environment built on Microsoft and Databricks technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing enterprise-scale data warehouse and Lakehouse architectures
  • Developing data platform strategies using Microsoft Fabric OneLake and Databricks
  • Building scalable data models and storage frameworks
  • Establishing robust governance, security, lineage and access control frameworks
  • Creating modern data integration and transformation pipelines
  • Defining CI/CD and deployment standards for data products
  • Driving the adoption of best practices across architecture, performance and scalability
  • Collaborating with senior business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical solutions

Requirements:

  • Enterprise data warehouse architecture and design
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform technologies and modern Lakehouse architectures
  • Databricks, Unity Catalog and Delta Lake
  • PySpark, Databricks, SQL
  • Medallion Architecture implementation
  • Data modelling approaches including Star Schema and Data Vault
  • Data governance, security and access management
