Job description

The Hospital Industry Data Institute (HIDI), the data company of the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA), is seeking a Database Administrator to design, administer, monitor, secure and optimize enterprise business intelligence and analytics database platforms. This position supports Microsoft SQL Server and modern serverless cloud-based data platforms, including Azure Serverless SQL, Parquet and Delta Lake storage, ensuring scalable, secure, high-performance data solutions for HIDI, participating hospitals, business partners and affiliated organizations.

Requirements

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates should have strong understanding of Windows and Internet programming environments, as well as computer operations, computer languages, database systems, spreadsheets, graphics and related applications. A thorough understanding of database concepts and demonstrated experience using relational databases is required, along with SQL database experience. Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to write effective technical documentation with attention to detail and accuracy. This role requires someone who can work well both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate should have thorough knowledge of systems analysis, data processing, programming and computer applications, including the ability to write complex queries, table joins, sub-queries, nested table expressions and stored procedures. The ideal candidate should understand healthcare data, code set standards and industry classifications, including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT and CMS-HCPCS codes, within a hospital environment or through related experience.
