Job description
An exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join a growing real estate investment and development platform. Working closely with senior leadership, you will gain end-to-end exposure across acquisitions, redevelopment, adaptive reuse, mixed-use, and ground-up development projects while helping deliver an expanding pipeline of commercial real estate opportunities.
- Drive development, entitlements and construction across diverse assets.
- Lead commercial real estate projects from acquisition through delivery., The Development Manager will report directly to senior development leadership and play a critical role in advancing projects from acquisition and due diligence through design, entitlements, construction, and delivery. This is a highly visible role offering broad exposure across the full development lifecycle.
- Manage consultant teams including architects, engineers, planners, landscape architects, and other external advisors.
- Coordinate entitlement, permitting, zoning, and approval processes with municipal agencies and utility providers.
- Support site due diligence activities, feasibility analysis, and pre-development planning.
- Build and maintain project schedules across design, financing, permitting, construction, and delivery phases.
- Monitor project budgets, track cost performance, and assist with financial reporting throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with contractors during construction including change order management, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
- Partner with acquisitions, leasing, marketing, asset management, and investment teams to support business objectives across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of commercial real estate development experience.
- Exposure to retail, mixed-use, urban infill, redevelopment, or ground-up development projects.
- Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle including due diligence, entitlements, design, financing, construction, and lease-up.
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, municipalities, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing development budgets and project reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
