Job description

Inscribirse en esta oferta We are looking for a skilled Senior Virtualization Engineer with extensive experience in Linux administration and infrastructure optimization. In this role, you will play a critical part in improving the efficiency, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure, which includes virtualization, networking, storage, and Linux OS management. Working within the operations team, you will provide innovative, real-world solutions to optimize our platform and ensure its smooth operation. This position requires on-site availability at our Data Center in Madrid for critical issue resolution, contributing to the seamless functioning of our infrastructure and delivering superior service to our clients.

  • Linux System Administration: Manage and maintain Linux systems to ensure stability, performance, and security across all environments.
  • Problem Resolution: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve downtime or performance issues to maintain a highly available production platform.
  • Documentation & Metrics Tracking: Maintain accurate records of performance metrics, system versions, and failures for continual improvement and reporting.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement and manage proactive monitoring tools, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact services.
  • Backup & Recovery: Establish and uphold reliable backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard our data and infrastructure.
  • Automation: Streamline routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools to improve efficiency.
  • Containerization: Develop, manage, and deploy containerized environments to support scalable application and service delivery.
  • Centralized Log Management: Implement and maintain centralized logging solutions to efficiently manage system and application logs.
  • Security Best Practices: Apply and maintain robust security measures to protect systems, data, and infrastructure from vulnerabilities.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform regular performance analysis and optimization for Linux and Windows environments, ensuring systems run at peak efficiency.

Requirements

  • English The ideal candidate will bring expert-level skills in Linux systems administration, along with a deep understanding of the components that make up IT infrastructure, including hardware platforms, operating systems, applications, databases, networks, and web/application servers. Key qualifications include:

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in Linux system management, with significant experience troubleshooting and optimizing infrastructure in high-availability production environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with IaC tools such as Ansible and Terraform to manage and configure infrastructure effectively.
  • Network Proficiency: Solid understanding of computer networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewall configuration, and network virtualization.
  • Storage Solutions: Experience working with network storage systems like Ceph or NFS.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools to support a streamlined, agile operational environment.
  • Orchestration Tools: Knowledge of IaaS orchestration technologies, such as OpenStack.
  • Database Management: Competence in managing database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB (proficiency preferred).
  • Monitoring & Performance Tools: Experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix or Nagios and an ability to conduct system performance tuning.
  • ITIL Knowledge: Understanding of the ITIL v3 framework, with an emphasis on incident, problem, and change management.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with strong communication skills, particularly in Spanish.
