Quality Assurance Tester

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Tester to support a large-scale modernization initiative focused on transforming legacy systems into a modern service-based architecture. This role will play a critical part in ensuring quality across modernized UI applications, backend services, APIs, and batch processing systems.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys hands-on manual testing, can independently dissect business and technical requirements, and is comfortable creating detailed test plans and test cases from scratch. While automation experience is highly valued, this is not an automation-only role - the immediate priority is strong manual testing capability within a fast-paced Agile environment.

This program includes extensive collaboration across front-end, backend, and batch modernization teams and involves validating integrations across multiple application layers and environments.

Primary Responsibilities · Analyze business and technical requirements to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies · Perform hands-on manual testing across modernized web applications, APIs, batch processes, and integrated systems · Validate functionality across approximately 300 medium-complexity modernized UI screens · Execute functional, regression, integration, usability, and cross-browser testing · Test modern single-page applications (SPA) built with Angular and React · Validate GraphQL and REST API integrations and service-based workflows using tools such as Postman or Swagger · Support testing activities across DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD-related environments · Perform batch job validation and environment readiness testing · Identify, document, reproduce, and help validate resolution of defects · Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, designers, and other QA team members within an Agile development process · Participate in requirements reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and acceptance criteria discussions · Contribute to future automated testing efforts as the modernization program evolves

Do you have experience in UI?, · Strong experience performing manual QA testing for web applications and enterprise systems · Proven ability to analyze requirements and independently create detailed test plans and test cases · Experience executing functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing · Experience testing modern Angular and/or React applications · Familiarity with GraphQL and REST API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar · Experience testing complex enterprise environments involving UI, APIs, and batch processing components · Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies · Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills · Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar · JavaScript and/or TypeScript experience, particularly in support of UI test automation · Experience building or maintaining automated UI test suites · Experience validating applications hosted in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure · Understanding of modernization initiatives, distributed systems, or service-based architectures · Experience working within public sector, pension, or highly regulated enterprise environments

Additional Notes · This role requires a strong willingness to perform hands-on manual testing as a primary responsibility · Candidates focused exclusively on automation testing will not be the right fit for this position · Automation experience is highly valued and will become increasingly important as the modernization effort progresses · Playwright experience is preferred, but candidates with automation backgrounds using other frameworks and solid JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge are also encouraged to apply
