Job description

Politicked is a fast-growing online community platform designed for competitive, non-political debate. We are looking for detail-oriented QA Testers to help us rigorously test our web application before our next major launch. In this role, you will break things on purpose, report bugs, and ensure our user experience is completely seamless. This is a flexible, remote position perfect for someone who loves finding technical glitches and ensuring high-quality software performance., * Execute User Flows: Thoroughly test the user registration, debate matchmaking systems, real-time chat, and community interactive features.

  • Identify & Log Bugs: Discover layout glitches, broken links, functionality errors, and performance lags across different web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and mobile devices.
  • Document Defects: Write clear, step-by-step bug reports detailing how to reproduce the issue, including screenshots or screen recordings.
  • Regression Testing: Re-test fixed issues to ensure updates haven’t accidentally broken other parts of the website.
  • UX Feedback: Provide honest feedback on the platform’s navigability, layout, and overall user intuition., * Schedule: Flexible hours (work whenever fits your schedule, provided milestones are met)
  • Perks: Direct impact on building a brand-new online debate community from the ground up, with potential for long-term contract extensions.

Requirements

  • Technical Setup: Reliable, high-speed internet access and your own laptop or desktop computer.
  • Device Variety: Ability to test on at least one desktop browser and one mobile device (iOS or Android).
  • Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for minor visual inconsistencies, formatting issues, and functional quirks.
  • Communication: Strong written communication skills to clearly explain technical issues to our development team.
  • Experience: Prior experience with QA testing tools (like Jira, Trello, or Bugzilla) is a plus, but a methodical mindset and a passion for finding software issues are most important.
