Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI)

The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a highly motivated researcher to work within its foundation cluster, led by Professors Pierre Youssef, Keith Ross, and Saurabh Ray.

The position will contribute to CIDSAI’s efforts to design AI systems that advance scientific and mathematical discovery, combining machine learning, reasoning, and human-AI collaboration. Successful candidates will work in a dynamic research environment at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, and mathematics, alongside faculty and researchers across disciplines.

The successful candidate will contribute to one or more of the following components:Reinforcement Learning for ReasoningFormal Verification and Lean AutomationAI-Assisted Collaboration and Problem FormulationPreference will be given to candidates with strong background in machine learning and mathematical reasoning and experience in one or more of the following:Large Language Models (LLMs), multi-agent systems, or reinforcement learning.Formal proof assistants (Lean, Coq, Isabelle, or similar).Programming.Strong mathematical maturity.Requirements: a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or computer science, with evidence of strong mathematical and computational skills.

The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal. The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
