You’ll split your time between people leadership - coaching your team, driving agile delivery, and managing OKRs - and engineering tasks. You will design reliable Terraform/Terragrunt modules on GCP, champion data security controls (Dataplex, DLP), and establish standard, self-service developer tools that empower our downstream data teams to build with confidence., * Modern Open-Source Tools: An open-source-first mindset when researching, evaluating, or building internal platform tools.

  • Next-Gen Architectures: Exposure to PySpark and open table formats (Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake).
  • AI Integration: Experience or strong interest in applying AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude) and monitoring LLM-driven pipelines.

Requirements

Essentially, to ensure you succeed in this role you’re going to need…

  • Dual Track Experience: 5+ years of experience in data platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering, with initial experience leading, mentoring, or managing tech teams.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep, practical experience using Terraform/Terragrunt to architect and manage infrastructure, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Advanced Platform Skillset: Strong familiarity with GCP data services (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, GKE, IAM) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Platform-as-a-Product Mindset: A strong focus on customer enablement, platform reliability, system governance, and security.
  • English Fluency: At a minimum, we require professional English language skills (B2 level or higher). Why? English is our company language and is used for any business-wide communications, so we need you to be able to communicate smoothly to feel like an integrated part of Booksy.
