IS/IT Specialist - HBSS

PioneerTech is looking for a Senior IT Specialist - HBSS to lead technical projects and endpoint security initiatives for the Department of Defense (DoD)., * Provide expert-level design, development, implementation, and sustainment of Host-Based Security Systems (HBSS) and modern endpoint security solutions.

• Utilize structured system development lifecycle processes for planning, managing, and documenting high-priority security project activities.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for enterprise-wide Information Technology and Cybersecurity consulting.
• Configure and maintain network systems, including servers, security appliances, and client-side hardware/software.
• Execute complex troubleshooting for Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), McAfee/Trellix ENS, Firewall configurations, and STIG compliance requirements.
• Manage SQL Databases, Oracle, Postgres, IIS, Apache, DNS, and Group Policy configurations.
• Implement and maintain encryption standards, including SSL, TLS, and IPsec.
• Conduct comprehensive Cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for Joint Staff J7 networks.
• Lead the integration, operation, and optimization of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) and Microsoft Defender for Joint Staff J7 Networks.
• Manage Zero Trust implementation, including Forescout or approved replacement tools, for network visibility and access control.
• Manage and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for enterprise network security.
• Oversee the installation and maintenance of email/web security gateway virtual appliances.

Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday to Friday within Core Hours of 07:00 - 17:00

• Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems OR five years of experience, (Minimum)
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification (Required)
• 5+ years of relevant HBSS experience, preferably within DoD environments (Minimum), Five plus (5+) years of recent experience with:
• Host-Based Security Systems (HBSS) applications and systems, networks, and databases.
• DoD RMF, ACAS, vulnerability scanning, anti-virus, and other security tools/applications.
• Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Points, and Visio.
• Having following skills is a PLUS:
• Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Experience working with the Joint Staff (JS) and COCOMs., * Host-based security system: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CompTIA Security+ (Required)
