Job description

As a System Engineer at TAL, you will be responsible or the technical definition, design and successful execution of automated intralogistics projects throughout both the pre-contract and execution phases.

Acting as the technical expert, the Systems Engineer works closely with Sales, Project Management, customers and suppliers to develop innovative, cost-effective and technically robust solutions.

This is a full-time hybrid role, based in Madrid., * Analyze customer operational and logistics data to develop optimized automation solutions.

  • Perform system simulations to validate proposed designs.
  • Design automated systems using CAD and engineering tools.
  • Develop technical concepts that balance performance, cost and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to prepare competitive technical proposals.
  • Support supplier selection and technical evaluations.
  • Prepare execution strategies, project plans and Gantt schedules.
  • Validate the overall solution considering technical design, suppliers, execution plan and financial viability.
  • Act as the technical expert during customer presentations and solution reviews.

PROJECTS EXECUTION

  • Validate engineering documentation before manufacturing and implementation.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
  • Coordinate technical activities between engineering, suppliers and project teams.
  • Ensure technical compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support installation, commissioning and system go-live.
  • Provide technical guidance during testing, validation and acceptance phases., The Systems Engineer is expected to have a strong understanding of warehouse automation technologies and intralogistics solutions, including:
  • Automated Material Handling Systems (AMH)
  • Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR)
  • AutoStore systems
  • Pallet Shuttle solutions
  • Conveyor systems
  • Crossbelt Sorters
  • High-speed Sortation Systems
  • Warehouse Execution Systems (WES)
  • Warehouse Control Systems (WCS)
  • PLC-controlled automation systems
  • Logistics simulations and material flow analysis
  • Mechanical and electrical system design
  • Installation and commissioning procedures

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience with CAD software and engineering design tools.
  • Knowledge of logistics simulations and data analysis.

  • Fluent English (additional European languages are a plus)., * Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Willing to travel extensively across Europe., * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in intralogistics, warehouse automation, material handling systems or industrial automation.
  • Experience working in engineering, systems design or solution development roles.
  • Experience with international projects is considered an advantage.
