Job description

GIANT FOOD PHARMACY IS NOW HIRING A FULL TIME (76 HOUR) PHARMACIST FOR OUR PHARMACY IN BETHESDA, MD - One week on and one week off

The primary function of this position is to fill prescriptions for customers, assist the Pharmacy Manager with ordering and maintaining the pharmaceutical inventory and to ensure safety regulations, production rates, quality standards are realized.

  • Set-up Pharmacy operations, perform daily inventory check, set-up Pharmacy Techs to process prescriptions, obtain supplies and prepare for operations.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with ordering and maintaining the pharmaceutical inventory, as well as, answer telephones, e-mails and voice mail for prescription requests, call doctors for refills, insurance and claims personnel.
  • Greet, assist and advise customers whenever needed and fill prescriptions as required.
  • Open cases of products, remove contents, stock shelves and rotate dated stock items and write up out of date returns.
  • Enter product information into the computer, record salvage and shrink info into inventory system, order products, enter items into inventory with bar code scanner and / or computer and complete reports as needed.
  • Build displays, set-up seasonal decorations and promotional material and ensure entire area and products are presentable for sale.
  • At the end of the shift clean and secure the Pharmacy, set alarms, turn in cash draws and complete all necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • Must have obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy D.
  • Must have experience / background in retail pharmacy
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple stores in designated area.
  • Must know MSDS information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work., * Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
  • Must participate in company orientation and training.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
