Job description

  • Complete daily installation service orders and trouble repairs at the customer premise. Tasks include but are not limited to installing data and voice wiring and installing customer premise equipment used to provide Voice, Video, Internet, and Managed Wi-Fi services
  • Provide in-depth customer service and education on all Southwest Broadband offered products and services
  • Install, repair, splice, and test fiber optic outside plant facilities
  • Locate underground fiber optic facilities
  • Read and interpret documents such as work orders, maps, and operating & maintenance instruction manuals
  • Works cooperatively with Southwest Broadband employees to achieve company goals
  • Use a Windows based PC to organize work, respond to emails, generate records, and maintain network equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to participating in after-hours, on-call rotations, and/or assisting with emergency repairs during non-business hours
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions

Requirements

Southwest Broadband is seeking a qualified Fiber Optic Network Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be efficient, detailed, and willing to work as a team player. This person must be self-motivated, adaptable to change, accept new ideas and have a willingness to learn. Great communication skills and friendliness to customers and co-workers alike are a must. This is a full-time position with an amazing team and exceptional benefit package., * High School or General Education Diploma

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products, Wired, and Wireless Networking
  • Capability to perform physical actions necessary to complete all duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Minnesota PLT License holder preferred but not required
  • Previous industry experience is a plus
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work in ALL weather conditions
