Job description

Please note that this position will be based in San Luis Obispo, California. Under the Homeless Services Director, this role manages client data for all CAPSLO Homeless Services programs. Responsibilities include training staff and CEP partners on data collection, working with IT to optimize HMIS use, generating and verifying reports, and coordinating with Planning for funder reporting. Strong data management helps the team track outcomes and support CAPSLO’s mission., * Oversee client data collection, analysis, and reporting for the Homeless Services Division, including data from partner agencies (ECHO and 5CHC), while ensuring confidentiality and data security.

  • Train and provide feedback to partner agency staff on Client Track and HMIS software.
  • Review and monitor all client data for completeness and accuracy; follow up with staff to resolve missing or inconsistent data.
  • Enter data into HMIS from source documents and establish systems to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain weekly statistical data for individuals and families served.
  • Provide the Planning Department with required statistics for funders.
  • Set up systems in HMIS for tracking outcome measurement tools.
  • Collaborate with HMIS technical support and CAPSLO IT to resolve software issues.
  • Train Homeless Services staff on HMIS applications, reporting procedures, and systems.
  • Assist with data analysis for quality assurance.
  • Run routine and customized reports as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe environment for staff, clients, and children.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have two years of related experience in data management/systems, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and database programs.
  • Must be able to type 50 words per minute, must provide a keyboarding certificate prior to beginning employment.
