Job description

  • Work with a team to design and develop data warehouse and database, stored procedures, and other SQL Server Database objects to support data warehouse, web applications, BI reporting and ETL.
  • Primarily working on data warehouse ETL work with Majesco SQL MI as data source.
  • Participate in all phases of data migration, including design, development, and testing.
  • Perform standard data integration work, data analysis, data transformation load, error handling, etc. between internal and external systems.
  • Perform general database activities (debug scripts/procedures, participate in code reviews, database tuning, database optimization), performance tuning, etc.
  • Review and analyze business requirements, consult with Tech Lead, Project Manager and Business Analyst to understand business requirement for database development and reports being implemented, create and update milestones and project timeline estimates.
  • Use data mining, model building, other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business.
  • Practice standard development process leveraging Waterfall and agile methodologies (Wagile).
  • Be able to mentor junior developers and provide support to users for ad-hoc requests.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have prior Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry experience, strong SQL and data transformation skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment., · Degree in Information Systems or related field (Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in work experience).

· At least five years of data warehouse and database ETL development experience preferably MS SQL Server, including T-SQL, and stored procedure.

· Experience working with Majesco Policy system backend SQL MI database.

· Experience with importing external data sources (from SFTP) into the data warehouse and vice versa.

· P&C insurance experience is required.

· Experience with production support and troubleshooting.

· Data Modeling experience is a plus.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

· Proficiency using versioning Control Software e.g., Bitbucket, GIT.

· A passion for Database Development and Analysis.

· Strong problem-solving skills.

· Self-motivated and self-driven is a must.

· Ability to work on a team; be a team player with a good attitude with limited supervision.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work from Home Requirements:

· An internet connection, via cable or fiber, that can support 300Mbps down and 10Mbps up. A wired (Ethernet) connection to the internet is preferred for best performance.

· A workstation, desk, or table that is ergonomically suitable for the employee’s physical needs, (standing, sitting, etc.). This workspace must support two, 24” displays, a laptop, docking station, keyboard, and mouse, at minimum.

Teleworkers must be reachable while teleworking during the employee’s regularly scheduled hours. Methods of communication include email account, voice calls, and messages using company-issued iPhone, Microsoft Office Teams, and other appropriate department tools and equipment. It is expected that teleworkers will attend all virtual scheduled meetings with their cameras on as much as possible. Additionally, any calls and/or voicemails will be answered in a timely manner.

Benefits & conditions

500 Edgewater Drive, Wakefield, MA 01880 Hybrid work $100,000 - $135,000 a year - Contract, This is a 3-month contract position with the potential for extension and/or conversion to a full-time employee role. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining both onsite and remote work flexibility.
