Job description

Be at the center of supporting the City’s technology infrastructure and digital communications. The Multimedia and Computer Support Specialist provides desktop and technical support to City staff while managing the City’s digital media presence through public meeting broadcasts, Channel 19 programming, the City website, and YouTube channel. This position combines technical expertise with multimedia production to ensure reliable technology services, professional public communications, and the integrity of the City’s digital records., Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Occasional work outside of normal business hours is required to support public meetings, technology maintenance, and special events. Essential Duties:

  • Assemble, configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other hardware and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues; document troubleshooting procedures and resolutions.
  • Install, configure, update, and support Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, multimedia software, and other business applications.
  • Coordinate computer deployments, office equipment moves, and workstation setup while ensuring minimal disruption to City operations.
  • Assist with hardware replacements, warranty support, driver installation, and software compatibility issues.
  • Support audio and video systems for City Council, committee, and other public meetings, including microphones, cameras, livestreaming equipment, recording systems, and presentation technology.
  • Produce, edit, and publish high-quality multimedia content for the City’s YouTube channel, Channel 19, website, and other digital communication platforms.
  • Manage programming schedules and content for Channel 19, ensuring current and accurate community information is available.
  • Maintain digital archives of public meetings and multimedia content while protecting confidential recordings and sensitive information.
  • Maintain and update the City’s website by publishing text, images, videos, agendas, meeting materials, announcements, and other departmental content.
  • Coordinate with City departments to gather, edit, and publish accurate information that enhances transparency and public communication.
  • Optimize online video content, livestreams, and digital communications to improve accessibility and public engagement.
  • Test multimedia equipment and technology before meetings and events to ensure reliable operation.
  • Maintain documentation for technical procedures, equipment configurations, and support activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical assistance to City employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure the integrity of City technology systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia Production, or a related field preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience providing technical support, desktop administration, multimedia production, or related IT experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with audio/video production, livestreaming platforms, video editing software, or website content management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, and related technologies is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
