Job description

System Development & Maintenance: Design, build, and deploy new platform services while maintaining existing mission-critical applications.
Containerized Deployments: Develop robust applications within Docker containers running on OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure.
DevOps Execution: Embrace a true DevOps mindset by actively monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting platform services in production.
Pragmatic Delivery: Balance code quality with project momentum (“good is good enough”), preventing perfectionism from slowing down strategic business impact.
Technical Challenge & Leadership: Actively challenge teams and stakeholders, ask critical questions, and drive continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience as a Backend Engineer in the technology sector.
Core Technical Stack: Mastery of Java (primary language), Spring Boot, SQL, and Git.
Infrastructure & Tooling: Demonstrable experience with Docker, OpenShift / Kubernetes, and Jira. Experience with Kafka and Splunk is a strong advantage.
Methodology: Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and end-to-end ownership.
Mindset: A “get-things-done” mentality combined with strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and the ability to distinguish main issues from side details.
Language: Fluent in Dutch
