Backend Developer (PHP Symfony)

• Backend & API Development Design and build complex business logic and high-performance APIs using Symfony

• Database & Architecture Ownership Manage, optimize and scale our RDS SQL architecture while ensuring stability and security across systems

• Full-Cycle Delivery Independently deliver backend features end-to-end, from technical design to deployment, You’ll work from our beautiful office at Kop van Zuid in Rotterdam, with the flexibility to work remotely part of the week. You’ll join an international and friendly development team with strong processes, a stable OTAP environment and a mature codebase.

• AI Mindset Interest in how AI can speed up and improve the way we build software

• Backend Expertise At least 3-5 years of experience with PHP and the Symfony framework

• Database Design Solid experience with SQL and database optimization (preferably RDS)

• Engineering Practices Strong focus on clean, maintainable and well-structured code, comfortable working in a mature codebase with established processes

• Ownership Mentality Able to independently take a feature from design to production, and to take the lead on larger initiatives when needed, * Architecture & Engineering Practices Experience with Domain-Driven Design, event-driven architectures, and working with queues or asynchronous processing (such as message queues or event-based systems).

• Epic Management & Leadership Ability to lead larger initiatives, including maintaining overview, ticket preparation, brainstorming and time management
