Job description

HLTH Manage is a compliance management platform built specifically for health and social care providers, supporting organisations across the UK with governance, compliance, quality assurance and operational management. Built using ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server and Entity Framework, the platform enables providers to manage documentation, policies, staff records, e-learning and wider governance requirements. As the platform continues to evolve, we are investing heavily in AI to transform both software development and wider business operations. AI is becoming a core part of how we build products, automate processes and deliver services, making this an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the platform., We are looking for an experienced .NET Developer to take ownership of the ongoing development of HLTH Manage while helping shape our wider AI strategy and technical capability. Development is currently supported externally, and we are bringing this expertise in-house. You’ll work directly with the leadership team, taking ownership of product development while also driving the implementation of AI across both software development and business operations.

What You’ll Do Maintain and extend the existing HLTH Manage codebase (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Entity Framework). Design and develop new features, workflows, dashboards and reporting functionality. Improve performance, reliability and security across the platform. Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software development using Claude Code and other modern tooling. Help implement AI into operational workflows across the wider business, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency and improved client delivery. Advise on Azure-based architecture, cloud services and scalable AI deployment where appropriate. Work closely with the leadership team to shape both the technical roadmap and long-term AI strategy., Flexible, part-time engagement with hours agreed based on availability and project requirements.

Requirements

Strong commercial experience with ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server and working within established production codebases. Extensive experience using Claude Code or similar AI development tools, with a strong understanding of how to use AI effectively within software engineering. Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its ecosystem, with the ability to advise on suitable services and architecture. Experience implementing AI solutions across operational business processes, not just software development. A quality-first approach and strong attention to detail. The ability to work independently while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Experience within healthcare, social care or another regulated environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

About the company

Hybrid working, based from our Preston city centre office.

Hourly rate: Competitive and agreed depending on experience, availability and the specific project work required.

To apply, please include a short summary of a project where you worked within an existing codebase that you did not originally build, together with details of your experience using Claude Code, Microsoft Azure and implementing AI into software or operational workflows.

Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
