Job description
The NOC Tier 3 is the Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the design, architecture, and deployment of complex, large-scale network solutions. This role provides the highest level of technical expertise, sets standards, performs advanced capacity planning, and is the final technical escalation point, driving innovation and defining the future state of Acuative’s global infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities:
- Network Architecture & Design: Lead the high-level and low-level design of enterprise network solutions, including core routing, spine-and-leaf fabrics, and multi-vendor security architectures.
- Strategic Planning: Conduct capacity planning, performance modeling, and define technology roadmaps to ensure the network can support future business growth and demands.
- Advanced Security & Compliance: Serve as the SME for advanced security systems (e.g., SD-WAN, zero trust models, NAC), ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations.
- Complex Systems Integration: Lead the technical integration of new or merged systems, vendors, and cloud network connectivity (AWS/Azure) into the existing global infrastructure.
- Mentorship & Standard Setting: Establish best practices and standards for Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers, conduct knowledge transfer sessions, and ensure consistent application of security and operational policies.
Requirements
- Expert Networking & Security: Mastery of complex enterprise environments, including MPLS, SD-WAN technologies, advanced BGP design, and expert-level security implementation and auditing.
- Cloud Networking: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with networking in public cloud environments.
- Automation & Orchestration: Proven ability to leverage automation tools and scripting to deploy, manage, and scale network infrastructure.
- Vendor Management: Experience evaluating new network technologies and managing vendor relationships for technical feasibility and integration., * Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of expert-level experience in network engineering, architecture, or a similar senior technical consultant role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Network Engineering, or a related field required (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications (Required): Must possess a current, expert-level certification such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Fortinet Certified Engineer (NSE 7), or Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP).
- Certifications (Desired): Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or other equivalent expert vendor certification.
