Job description

The Core Solutions Analyst is responsible for supporting the daily administration, configuration, and optimization of the Symitar core banking system and related platforms. This role ensures system reliability, resolves issues as they arise, and supports efficient, consistent operations across the organization.

This position plays a critical role in reducing backlog and supporting day-to-day system demands, enabling leadership to focus on larger strategic initiatives while maintaining strong system performance and user experience., Core Banking System Administration & Support

  • Maintain and support the Symitar core banking system and related platforms
  • Execute system updates, including rates, configurations, reports, and system changes
  • Monitor system performance and ensure ongoing accuracy and reliability

Issue Resolution

  • Troubleshoot system issues and determine root causes
  • Implement solutions and coordinate with vendors when escalation is required

Development & Configuration

  • Build and modify PowerOn programs to support system functionality
  • Develop and maintain document mapping processes (SymFormPDF/PowerFrame Docs)
  • Configure system parameters, defaults, and settings
  • Create and maintain batch jobs and job files
  • Develop and maintain automated SFTP batch scripts and scheduled jobs

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Identify inefficiencies in system-related workflows across departments
  • Implement system-based changes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work

Release Management & Testing

  • Support testing and deployment of system updates and enhancements
  • Validate system changes and ensure documentation is completed

Operational & Ancillary System Support

  • Support systems and devices connected to the core environment (e.g., card printers, pin pads, scanners, signature pads)
  • Assist with system-related operational needs across departments

Backup & Coverage Support

  • Provide backup support for core banking system operations during absences of senior resources
  • Support continuity of system operations during periods of high demand

Requirements

Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * 3+ years of experience working in a Jack Henry Symitar environment

  • Hands-on experience with system configuration, PowerOn programming, and batch processing
  • Experience supporting production systems and resolving issues in real time

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • OR
  • equivalent combination of education and experience

Compliance, Risk & Confidentiality

  • Adhere to all regulatory, security, and internal policy requirements
  • Ensure the confidentiality and protection of member and organizational data
  • Follow established procedures for system access, data handling, and risk mitigation
  • Support audit, compliance, and security-related activities as required, * Experience working in a credit union or financial institution
  • Experience with MeridianLink or similar platforms
  • Experience with process improvement or automation initiatives

Technical Skills

  • Symitar (Jack Henry)
  • PowerOn programming
  • SQL / database fundamentals
  • Advanced Excel
  • Power BI or similar tools (preferred)
