Job description

  • The client is seeking a highly skilled, end-to-end Data Platforms Product Designer to support the design of internal and partner-facing enterprise platforms. These tools enable organizations to manage, submit, and monitor large, structured datasets that directly affect downstream systems and real-world user experiences.
  • This role requires strong expertise in complex workflows, data-heavy interfaces, and clear design communication.
  • You will collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to transform highly technical requirements into intuitive, scalable interactions-delivering clarity and simplicity within systems that handle large volumes of structured data.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • UX & Interaction Design:
  • Design end-to-end workflows for complex, data-rich enterprise applications, including data ingestion, validation, error resolution, and status reporting.
  • Simplify multi-step technical processes into clear, intuitive UI patterns that improve efficiency for users who interact with large or frequently changing datasets.
  • Create interaction models, wireframes, and prototypes for tools involving tables, hierarchical data, dashboards, schema-driven forms, and metadata-heavy screens.
  • High-Fidelity UI & Prototyping:
  • Produce polished, production-ready UI deliverables that engineering teams can implement directly.
  • Build interactive prototypes (Figma or equivalent tools) that clearly demonstrate system behaviors, state changes, and data-driven interactions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to define user requirements, clarify technical constraints, and translate complex logic into usable experiences.
  • Work independently within a fast-paced environment, proactively pushing designs forward with minimal oversight.
  • Communicate design rationale through clear narratives, documentation, and structured case study presentations.
  • Data Visualization & Problem-Solving:
  • Develop visualizations and monitoring interfaces that help users interpret data quality issues, ingestion outcomes, and system performance metrics.
  • Design tools that surface anomalies, rejected datasets, and validation errors in ways that support quick troubleshooting and decision-making.
  • User-Centered Discovery:
  • Understand the workflows of operational users, technical partners, or organizational teams who rely on data-heavy tools to perform their core job functions.
  • Translate findings into user journeys and information architecture that accommodate both technical and non-technical user needs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional UX or product design experience, with significant work on enterprise or data-heavy systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex domain challenges, technical workflows, and multi-layered data interactions.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma for interface design and prototyping.
  • A portfolio that clearly communicates problem framing, process, system complexity, and measurable impact.
  • Experience collaborating directly with engineering and product teams.
  • Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and drive UX quality with minimal guidance.

Desired Experience (Nice to have):

  • Experience with data visualization, GIS/geospatial interfaces, mapping workflows, or large information systems.
  • Familiarity with conversational or assistant-like UI patterns.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted design or prototyping tools.
  • Technical understanding of schemas, datasets, or data validation logic.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
