Job description

  • Independently create complete part structures in SAP, including:
  • Item Master Data
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Routings
  • Production processes
  • Read and interpret engineering, fabrication, and shop drawings to determine manufacturing processes required to produce parts.
  • Utilize SigmaNEST (Demo Mode) to:
  • Determine laser run times
  • Calculate material requirements for individual parts
  • Enter BOMs, routings, and production processes quickly and accurately with minimal errors.
  • Finalize part costing for cost comparison and quote preparation.
  • Troubleshoot and correct routing issues within sales orders and MORS.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend cost-saving opportunities when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Assist with identifying and evaluating new vendor and supplier sources as needed.
  • Support training and development of team members by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of MMG machinery and standard fabrication methods.

Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator II to join our team. The Estimator II is responsible for independently developing accurate manufacturing estimates by creating and maintaining item master data, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and production processes within SAP. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication methods, shop drawings, materials, machinery, and supplier capabilities to support efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have estimating experience in a manufacturing environment, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities for process and cost improvements., * Minimum of 1-3 years of estimating experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to independently interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience creating and maintaining BOMs, routings, and manufacturing data.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication methods, manufacturing processes, and material requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience using SigmaNEST or similar nesting software.
  • Knowledge of laser cutting operations and material utilization optimization.
  • Familiarity with supplier sourcing and vendor management.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

Career Progression

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to perform all Estimator II responsibilities independently and consistently before consideration for advancement to higher-level estimating roles.
