Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, ensuring continuous access to services for our customers worldwide., As a Data Center Technician you will troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. You will be the primary resolver for your support team and will collaborate with other solution groups on more complex cases., Follow and maintain the highest safety standards; encourage a world-class safety culture and own safety initiatives.

  • Diagnose hardware and network problems and perform physical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Lift and rack equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) as well as weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience in computer networking.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair., * Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking, stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
