Job description

Pike Township Fire Department is seeking a dependable and skilled Support Services Facilities Technician to assist with the maintenance and repair of Township and fire department buildings, grounds, systems, and equipment.

This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, general repairs, grounds maintenance, and coordinating with outside contractors to help ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and operational for emergency services and the community., * Perform general building and grounds maintenance

  • Complete small to medium in-house repairs
  • Assist with preventative maintenance schedules and repairs
  • Maintain and repair systems, including:
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Lighting
  • Fire protection systems
  • Generators
  • Exhaust systems
  • Perform painting, drywall, carpentry, and minor renovation work
  • Assist with snow removal and emergency maintenance response
  • Maintain maintenance records and inventory documentation
  • Assist with supply inventory and distribution as needed
  • Participate in the on-call support services rotation

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Plumbing?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED required

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction, building maintenance, or repair
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
  • Experience with general maintenance techniques including carpentry, painting, and drywall repair
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn Microsoft 365 and other software programs
  • Forklift certification and CDL preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and various weather conditions
  • Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment
