Job description
- BMC firmware architecture. Define and own the OpenBMC-based firmware architecture for AI/GPU server platforms, including manageability stack, Redfish interfaces, IPMI, and platform telemetry.
- Platform control and monitoring. Develop and integrate power, thermal, fan-control, and sensor monitoring firmware in close collaboration with power delivery and thermal teams.
- Security and reliability. Implement secure boot, firmware update/recovery, RoT integration, and robust error handling to meet hyperscaler security and reliability requirements.
- Bring-up and debug. Lead firmware bring-up across EVT/DVT/PVT, debug at board and system level, and drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes across firmware, hardware, and system-integration domains.
- Manufacturing and deployment enablement. Deliver firmware tooling and features for factory provisioning, diagnostics, and fleet deployment, and support field issue resolution at scale.
- Technical leadership. Set firmware development methodology, review code, and mentor engineers; represent firmware architecture to customers and internal executives.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of embedded/firmware development experience, including significant BMC/platform management firmware work and hands-on OpenBMC development. Proven delivery of server-class firmware into production; hyperscale experience preferred.
- Technical expertise: Strong C/C++ and embedded Linux skills; deep knowledge of OpenBMC, Redfish, IPMI, I2C/I3C, PMBus, SPI, and platform management interfaces; experience with secure boot, firmware update, and RoT.
- Systems knowledge: Solid understanding of server hardware, power/thermal control loops, and the interaction of firmware with BIOS, hardware, and manufacturing flows.
- Communication: Able to lead cross-functional debug, drive architecture decisions, and communicate effectively with hardware teams, customers, and executives.
Compensation: $214,000 to $290,000
