Job description
The System Engineer is responsible for supporting equipment in the district’s Microsoft Windows, Cisco telephony, and Apple environments, from design through implementation and support. The System Engineer performs a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of workstations, servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment. The System Engineer provides investigation, diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of system, hardware, software and infrastructure.
Requirements

Bachelor’s of Science degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Possess a certification in the field of technology from accredited institution preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years experience in maintaining a network.

Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with no serious violations (if applicable to assignment).

Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.

Pass the State required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.

Starting salary begins at $50,000
Compensation package includes the following benefits:
- New Jersey pension enrollment for retirement (TPAF/PERS/DCRP)
- Eligibility for health, vision and dental coverage, 403(b) plan, and flexible spending accounts, all subject to plan terms
- Paid time off (PTO) earned on an accrual basis as per negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Tuition Reimbursement as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
