Job description

As aSoftware Engineer, you will work closely with our Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning teams to build and scale a suite of internal web applications that connect data across engineering disciplines (electrical, instrumentation, mechanical) and the field. You’ll own features end to end - designing data models, building APIs, and shipping polished, high-performance user interfaces that our engineers rely on daily to move projects faster and with higher quality. What You’ll Do

  • Build and own full-stack features using .NET, React, and TypeScript
  • Design scalable databases and APIs to keep engineering data accurate and fast
  • Guide technical decisions and architecture for a large, growing codebase
  • Optimize performance across the entire stack-from database queries to UI rendering
  • Write reliable, high-quality code backed by comprehensive testing
  • Troubleshoot and fix production bugs, data issues, and performance bottlenecks

Requirements

  • Full-Stack Engineering: Deep experience building robust web applications across the full SDLC. Strong proficiency in C#/.NET and React/TypeScript (or comparable stacks), with modern frontend practices like state management and data-dense UIs
  • Database Architecture: Solid relational database expertise (SQL Server/PostgreSQL, ORMs, query optimization). Experience designing zero-downtime schema migrations, live data backfills, and batch/streaming data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
  • API Design & Integration: Proven ability to design, integrate, and document REST APIs. Experience connecting heterogeneous systems (third-party APIs, message queues, file drops) using resilient syncs, retries, and modern auth patterns (Azure AD, OAuth, OIDC)
  • Quality & Performance: Strong testing discipline (unit, integration, E2E via Jest, Playwright,xUnit). Experience profiling and optimizing performance-critical tooling under heavy data volumes (memory allocations, query plans, render budgets)
  • Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments (Docker), and cloud platforms (Azure preferred). Comfort working in fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments
  • Applied AI & RAG Pipelines: Practical experience integrating LLMs into production applications, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, vector search, chunking strategies, and retrieval-quality evaluation is preferred
  • Advanced Distributed Systems: Deep knowledge of event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) for handling high-throughput data, IoT integrations, or complex state synchronization across distributed systems is preferred

Benefits & conditions

Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:

  • Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction
  • Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits

  • Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA

  • Company paid Basic Life, AD&D
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)
  • Employee Assistance Program
