Job description
Leidos is looking for our next TS/SCI-cleared DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack in support of the DIA-NMEC (National Media Exploitation Center) DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). This role is part of a 10-year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where youâll contribute to mission-critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth-oriented team.
While the majority of work is performed on-site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.
What Youâll Do
As a DevOps Software Engineer, youâll help design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture. Youâll also support systems administration, installation, configuration, and the broader adoption of DevOps best practices across cross-functional engineering teams. In this fast-paced environment, youâll collaborate closely with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.
You will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:
- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability
- Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities
Requirements
Youâre enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds. You also meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Masterâs
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Strong Linux proficiency
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments
Bonus Points
Youâll stand out even more if you bring:
- Experience operating systems at scale
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Development experience (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.)
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems
- Familiarity with:
- Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS)
- Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- GPU-based Kubernetes
- SALT for deployment automation
- Helm / Helmfile
- Nexus
