Job description

As a Data Scientist, you translate the richness of our customer data into tangible impact across our website, app, online marketing channels, stores, customer service, supply chain, and buying teams. You have the opportunity to improve the shopping experience of millions of customers and build the data products that power better decisions across the entire organization. You will:

  • Ideate and develop Build scalable machine learning products across various domains, working directly with colleagues to explore and shape data-driven solutions.
  • Deploy and own Take models from development to production, owning the full ML ops lifecycle in close collaboration with our tech teams.
  • Experiment and iterate Continuously improve production models, MLOps flows, and contribute to the broader data platform.

We currently have a number of models in production across different business domains. Examples include recommendation systems, sales and returns forecasting, customer segmentation and lifetime value prediction, and marketing budget optimization. In our latest work, we built a recommender system using a LLM and a multimodal model that combines text and image features, allowing us to create more meaningful recommendations. Our work is powered by a modern tech stack including Python, GCP, BigQuery, dbt, git, Argo Workflows, Docker, Kubernetes and Airflow.

About The Team

You will join a centralized Data & Analytics team, working closely with data engineers, analysts, and tracking & measurement experts. The team operates Agile, giving you substantial responsibility and the freedom to make impactful decisions from the start. You’ll be based at our Service Office, with flexible remote work options.

The Data & Analytics team supports a diverse range of organizational departments with their data needs, giving you the chance to work with a variety of data sources and use cases.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamental experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer (4+ years of experience).
  • Proficiency in Python for delivering production-ready code.
  • Proficiency in SQL, experience with dbt is a big plus.
  • While hands-on experience with GCP is a big plus, familiarity with a similar cloud platform is also valuable.

Experience with other aspects of this role are great to have, but can also be learned on the job.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with operationalizing machine learning models.
