Job description

The IT Software Developer- Associate will research, design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software systems to meet client requirements.

Job Specific Responsibilities

Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions when appropriate
  • Analyze new programming requests and develop software solutions with minimal assistance.
  • Responsible for developing solutions to programming requests approved by IT Steering Committee and IT management.
  • Route all changes to the production environment through the IT change control process
  • Confirm project requirements by reviewing the client’s user story and desired output while ensuring that the design and build are completed successfully, clearly documented and tested while leveraging best practices.
  • Field incoming tickets and work to resolve issues, or if unable to resolve issue, escalate appropriately.
  • Communicates status updates of tasks, project plans, risk points and milestones to appropriate team members and management in a meaningful and timely fashion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree highly recommended)
  • +4 years of relevant work experience

Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations

  • ITIL Foundations or professional certification preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Display aptitude in applying programming techniques to solve business needs
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem solving/resolution skills

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships

This position will interact with both clinical and non-clinical departments within UMC Health System and TTUHSC to gather requirements, validate and resolve issues relating to the report and/or data analysis.

Physical Capabilities

Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time. Brief walking or standing for short periods of time may be required
