Job description

We are seeking a Field Technology Specialist to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support low-voltage technology systems nationwide. This role focuses on physical security systems, networking infrastructure, telecommunications equipment, structured cabling, and IT hardware/software support.

This position requires both local and overnight travel and is ideal for candidates located near International Falls, MN, Grand Forks, ND, Minot, ND, Pembina, ND, or surrounding areas.

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and successfully pass a drug screen, background check, driving record review, and credit check., * Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage infrastructure, structured cabling, telecommunications equipment, and physical security systems.

  • Install and support IP cameras, access control systems, card readers, biometric devices, electronic locks, control panels, and power supplies.

  • Perform installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of network, security, and electronic systems.

  • Configure and troubleshoot Windows 11 operating systems, workstations, and related hardware.

  • Install operating system images, update drivers, and implement system configurations following documented procedures.

  • Support Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking environments.

  • Assemble, install, and maintain data communication equipment and structured cabling infrastructure.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and CAD documentation.

  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections on completed installations.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and low-voltage system issues.

  • Coordinate material procurement, equipment delivery, and inventory tracking for assigned projects.

  • Complete project documentation accurately and on schedule.

  • Safely operate ladders, lifts, power tools, and testing equipment while following company safety standards.

  • Travel extensively to customer and project sites throughout the United States.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen required.

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent certifications, training, and experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in low-voltage systems, telecommunications, physical security, IT support, network infrastructure, or related technical field work.

  • Experience installing and maintaining IP camera systems preferred.

  • Experience with access control systems, video management systems (VMS), and physical security technologies highly preferred.

  • Telecommunications installation and troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.

  • Understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking concepts.

  • Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, hardware configuration, and software installation.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to work at heights up to 90 feet using lifts and elevated platforms.

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds., * CompTIA A+
