Intermediate Backend Developer

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that form the core of our iGaming SaaS platform.
• Enhance and expand existing platform functionality to support growing business demands and product innovation.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party and partner APIs, ensuring seamless interoperability and data exchange.
• Develop new features and improvements for our Remote Gaming Server (RGS), with a strong focus on performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with Frontend Developers, Product Managers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our backend infrastructure and development standards.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in software engineering.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively implement optimizations and fixes.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices within backend development and the iGaming space.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development within a commercial environment.
• At least 2 years’ experience developing applications using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript development.
• Extensive experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other SQL-based database technologies.
• Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and SQL querying.
• Experience with Redis and caching technologies.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience working with message-oriented middleware and messaging technologies, including:
• RabbitMQ
• Redis Messaging
• AMQP Protocols
• Experience using Git for source control and version management.
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and deployment practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Docker and containerised application development.
• A relevant Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or currently studying towards one).

Preferred & Advantageous Experience

The following will be considered highly advantageous:

• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools such as SaltStack or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience working with cloud platforms including:
• AWS
• Microsoft Azure
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with messaging and event-driven technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Exposure to highly scalable SaaS or high-transaction environments.
• Previous experience within the online gaming or iGaming industry.
• Understanding of gaming industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
