Artificial Intelligence Data Analysis ARM Architecture Red Team (Cyber Security)

Job description

Your Career

As the Principal for Competitive Intelligence within the Cortex Product Management organization, you are the strategic link between the competitive landscape and our product roadmap. You don’t just report on the market-you influence what we build. By applying Structured Analytic Techniques (SATs) to technical competitive data, you will provide the “Inconvenient Truths” that challenge our product assumptions and ensure that Cortex maintains a structural architectural advantage validated by evidence and field reality.

Qualifications

Your Impact

  • Own the Agentic Endpoint Security Competitive Picture. AES is a fast-moving market where today’s architecture decisions define tomorrow’s winners. You will maintain a continuously updated, evidence-based view of how the competitive landscape is evolving and translate it into product decisions that keep Cortex ahead.

  • Separate Architecture from Marketing. The AES market conflates detection with enforcement, posture with runtime, and rule-based blocking with behavioral detection. You will produce rigorous technical teardowns that distinguish what competitors actually do from what they claim - and make sure our teams know the difference.

  • Define the Counter-Narrative. Partner with the Enablement Lead to build technical “Kill” campaigns that dismantle competitor claims at the moments that matter - at launch, at renewal, and inside active deals.

  • Defend and Expand the Technical Moat. Track where Cortex holds genuine structural advantages and where the market is closing those gaps. Identify the product decisions required to sustain or extend those advantages.

  • Own the Endpoint Security and AES Intersection. The convergence of EPP/EDR and Agentic Endpoint Security is where the most significant competitive pressure is emerging. You will identify patterns across wins and losses in this space and deliver the objective analysis Product and Engineering need to respond.

  • Track the Analyst Narrative. Category definitions in AES are still being written. You will monitor how analysts are framing the space and ensure our product and messaging strategy stays ahead of placements that shape enterprise procurement decisions.

Requirements

Your Experience

  • 8+ years in Competitive Intelligence, Product Management, or Sales Engineering within cybersecurity, with deep expertise in EPP/EDR, XDR, and AI-driven security.

  • Mastery of Structured Analytic Techniques: You produce high-nuance, threat-focused analysis that goes well beyond feature matrices - work that withstands scrutiny from senior Product and Engineering executives.

  • Technical depth in endpoint security: You understand the architectural distinctions that matter in this space - between rule-based enforcement and behavioral detection, between posture-based discovery and runtime visibility, between proxy-layer and host-native approaches - and can assess where a competitor’s architecture hits structural ceilings.

  • Familiarity with the agentic AI threat landscape: You understand how AI agents interact with enterprise systems and what that means for detection and enforcement architectures.

  • Radical Candor: You are entirely comfortable delivering Inconvenient Truths to product leadership about where our strategy is falling short, backed by irreproachable evidence.

  • Executive Communication and BLUF Mastery: You can distill dense technical and market analysis into concise, high-impact briefings that directly steer executive decision-making.

  • Red Team Product Facilitation. Experience running adversarial workshops for product launches - simulating how competitors will attempt to undercut new capabilities in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an Endpoint PM, Detection Engineer, or TME - you should be able to have a peer-level conversation about telemetry coverage, detection content, and enforcement trade-offs.

  • Hands-on understanding of how AI-driven security products behave in production SOC environments, including where autonomous response capabilities break down at scale.

  • Familiarity with how AI agents are being deployed in the enterprise - the deployment models, the integration points, and the threat surfaces they create.

  • Advanced use of ACH or similar formal intelligence frameworks to objectively evaluate competitor claims.

  • CI certification (CIP or equivalent) or formal intelligence training is a plus.

Benefits & conditions

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here (https://benefits.paloaltonetworks.com/) .
