Job description
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for employees or clients seeking technical assistance. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, ensure user requests are resolved in a timely manner, and document support tickets clearly., * First-Line Technical Support: Respond to inbound IT support requests via phone, email, chat, or in-person ticketing system.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic to intermediate technical issues related to Windows/macOS operating systems, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, printer setup, and basic network connectivity (Wi-Fi/VPN).
- User Management: Perform basic account administration, including password resets, account unlocks, and user onboarding/offboarding.
- Hardware Maintenance: Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, monitors, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Escalation: Accurately document troubleshooting steps and escalate complex technical problems to senior engineers or system administrators.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain accurate records of IT hardware assets, equipment loans, and software licenses.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience in a technical support, customer service, or helpdesk environment
- Strong familiarity with Windows and/or macOS operating systems
- Basic understanding of computer networking principles
- Excellent communication and customer service skills-ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users calmly and clearly
- Familiarity with ticketing systems
- Experience with cloud platforms
- Ability to lift up to 30-40 lbs (moving desktop hardware, monitors, and equipment).
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
