We’re searching for a strong Python Developer with an excellent background in object-oriented design and software development. This role is customer-facing, working as part of a software engineering team responsible for automating NetApp storage infrastructure operations in a large scale customer environment. Our ideal candidate will enjoy the challenge of dealing with new technologies, desire lots of customer interaction and be comfortable working as part of a team.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (this is a consulting role).
- Excellent Python programming skills and experience.
- A strong understanding of SDLC processes, tools and tasks.
- A strong working knowledge of Git-based version control systems and software release processes.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum Sprint-based workflow.
- Experience working within enterprise scale environments.
- Excellent task organization, documentation, and prioritization skills.
- Be located in the eastern U.S. (Eastern Time Zone).
Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Experience working with Python Flask API framework.
- Experience developing using VS Code on RHEL.
- Hands-on NetApp storage (ONTAP) API and operations experience.
- Hands-on infrastructure deployment and/or configuration automation experience with Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience implementing code unit tests using the PyTest library.
- JavaScript programming experience for front-end development.
- Experience using Atlassian Jira for software ticket/task assignments and creation of code branches.
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like (Responsibilities)
You should be comfortable with development, test, and documentation for object-oriented Python-based programming. You will be working as part of a 4-5 person development team delivering releases in a monthly sprint cycle. You will be assigned tickets in Jira for design, development, documentation and test, as part of each Sprint release cycle. The team is implementing middleware as part of a large-scale automation initiative to streamline storage infrastructure operations, providing endpoints for other tools such as Ansible and Terraform to use in developing an interface similar to the AWS management console. The work is within a large, complex production environment with strict release schedules and minimal downtime tolerances.
Qualified Candidates
- Must be based in the eastern United States and be a U.S. citizen.
- Must pass a 10 year criminal background check (completely clear) and pass a 10-panel drug screen.
- May be required to pass additional background or financial record checks, based on contractual requirements for specific engagements.
