Job description

Vendor resource will serve as a technical lead and support key modernization initiatives across our Edge applications:

  1. Rust Technical Leadership Java to Rust Migration o Lead the design and execution of Java-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications, including: Secure Connect Gateway Policy Manager Data Center back-end services.

  2. Rust Technical Leadership C/C++ to Rust Migration o Lead the design and execution of C/C++-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications, including: SSC (Secure Service Credentials)

  3. Capability Building / Knowledge Transfer o Train and mentor Dell senior SMEs on advanced Rust concepts and best practices o Enable internal SMEs to assume the Rust Technical Lead role by the end of the engagement, UST is seeking a highly skilled Senior Rust Developer to support strategic technology initiatives for a leading global technology client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems programming, backend application development, cloud-native architectures, and performance optimization using Rust. The role involves designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions supporting enterprise platforms, cloud infrastructure, edge computing, platform engineering, automation, and next-generation technology initiatives. The candidate will work closely with architects, product owners, DevOps teams, and global engineering teams in an Agile environment., Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Rust. Build highly scalable, low-latency, and resilient services for cloud and distributed environments. Should be strong technical hands-on coding skills. Should be familiar with AI technologies, including Python and auto coding Tools Develop microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven applications. Implement concurrent and asynchronous solutions using Rust best practices. Optimize application performance, memory efficiency, and system reliability. Collaborate with architects and product teams to define technical solutions and system designs. Integrate applications with cloud platforms, databases, messaging systems, and enterprise platforms. Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and sprint planning activities. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis. Ensure security, observability, scalability, and compliance requirements are met. Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices. Requirements

Experience working with globally distributed teams. Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
