Job description

Design, program, and implement new SCADA systems for the Gas industry.

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for existing SCADA systems.
  • Integrate the latest technologies and trends in Gas PLC and SCADA systems to enhance operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automation designs and equipment relevant to the Gas industry.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with management, IT, operations staff, and energy control center.
  • Develop and maintain HMI displays and real-time/historical database interfaces and reports.
  • Troubleshoot SCADA software, server issues, and data polling between SCADA and field RTUs.
  • Collaborate with Field Technicians for configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of field data.
  • Work with Gas Control operators to ensure safe and reliable pipeline operations via SCADA.
  • Program and maintain wireless modems (e.g., Sierra Wireless, Digi).
  • Document system changes and follow proper change management procedures.
  • Utilize and support protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and BSAP for RTU/PLC communications.
  • Write simple scripts and SQL queries for system customization and reporting.
  • Work independently and exercise sound judgment within a small team environment.

Requirements

(Nice to Have) Experience in regulated environments, control room operations, and advanced reporting. Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency with AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA).
  • Strong understanding of gas measurement metering and SCADA system operation.
  • Experience in HMI development and historical database reporting.
  • Knowledge of RTU/PLC communication protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve SCADA server/software issues.
  • Clear, effective communication for coordination with various teams.
  • Comfortable with hybrid work arrangements. Preferred Skills:

  • Scripting and SQL query development.
  • Experience in control room environments and regulated operations.
  • Advanced report building and configuration.
