Job description
Responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of complex SAP Basis environments. Supports SAP landscape operations, system performance, upgrades, patching, transports and technical projects while ensuring availability, security and compliance. Acts as a technical partner for SAP functional teams, infrastructure teams and external partners and provides reliable technical coverage for senior SAP Basis responsibilities when required., The role reports to the People Lead and functionally to the SAP Platform/Product Owner. Works closely with SAP functional consultants, Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, Application Development and external partners. No direct reports., * Administer SAP systems and services across complex landscapes, including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) or similar.
- Perform SAP installations, upgrades, kernel updates and support packages.
- Manage transports across Development, QA and Production environments.
- Monitor system health, performance, availability and capacity.
- Troubleshoot SAP Basis incidents and coordinate root cause analysis.
- Support SAP HANA database administration together with DBAs.
- Manage user administration, authorizations support and technical security tasks.
- Participate in disaster recovery, backup and high availability activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud and network teams.
- Contribute to automation, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support project deliveries, migrations and technical implementations.
Challenges
Balance operational support with project and transformation work, ensure high system availability, coordinate international stakeholders and external partners, and maintain SAP environments according to governance and security standards. Demonstrate sufficient technical breadth, autonomy and ownership to ensure continuity and deputy coverage for senior SAP Basis responsibilities when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of professional experience as an SAP Basis Consultant/Administrator within complex SAP landscapes, with the technical breadth, autonomy and ownership required to provide deputy coverage for senior SAP Basis responsibilities when needed.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Basis administration, transports and monitoring.
- Experience with SAP HANA and Linux/Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of SAP upgrades, patching and system refreshes.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash or Python) is desirable.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and incident/change management.
- Fluent business English (written and spoken)., * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
