About Covadem
CoVadem is a unique and innovative company that emerged from an initiative of the research institutes MARIN and Deltares, Autena, Bureau Telematica Binnenvaart (BTB) and various inland shipping entrepreneurs.
With a ‘floating measurement network’ of more than 350 ships, we combine the measured data with public data using big data techniques and smart algorithms and provide inland shipping with an electronic water depth map every day, but also provide advice on a possible loading depth for its upcoming journey.
In addition, we regularly supply data to waterway managers such as Rijkswaterstaat, and to research institutes and universities for research purposes.
About the company
We are looking for a Back-End Developer .NET responsible who will be responsible to work together with our front end developers on the applications that help the shipping industry for the purposes of sharing accurate waterdepth via tailor made ECDIS applications and their very own Smart Dashboard.
Your role will be as a new colleague and you will be integrated into a small and highly professional team with links to companies and institutes like MARIN and Deltares as well as participating in (inter)national research projects.
At the moment we offer insight with, for example, electronic navigation charts (bIENCs), interactive dashboards, and easy-to-use APIs. But the possibilities with our unique source of information are of course suitable for much more than that. And that is what you will be working on. For example, can we predict what the bottom of the river will look like in a week, can we give an autonomous ship a dynamically adjusted optimal sailing line? Or perhaps we should think of a completely different visualization of the same information, 3D?
