Operational Technology Architect

As OT Architect at Sif, you are the connecting link between production, engineering, maintenance, IT, and cybersecurity. You develop and safeguard the OT architecture across all our production sites, ensuring that industrial automation, OT platforms, and data integrations align with Sif’s business objectives. You report to the Manager IT Projects and work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and external integration partners.

• Architecture & strategy: You develop and maintain the OT architecture for all production sites. You define OT standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps, and establish target architectures for Smart Factory, MES, SCADA, and industrial automation.
• Industrial automation: You determine integrations between IT/OT systems including D365 F&O, MS Fabric, and Power BI. You support production teams with questions around existing and new devices, and you are responsible for creating a highly stable and controllable production automation environment.
• Security & compliance: You define OT security architectures in line with IEC 62443, support ISO 27001 implementation, and establish standards for remote access by suppliers.
• Supplier & lifecycle management: You provide technical oversight of suppliers and integration partners, define lifecycle, patch, and upgrade policies for OT platforms, and advise on SLAs, support contracts, and risks.
• Innovation: You explore new technologies in the areas of Smart Manufacturing, Digital Twins, Condition Monitoring, Industrial AI, Data Analytics, Edge Computing, and Industry 4.0. Where will you end up? You will be based at our Maasvlakte 2 production site in Rotterdam. You report to the Manager IT Projects and work day-to-day alongside colleagues from production, maintenance, Smart Factory, and IT.

• You are persuasive, decisive, and organisationally aware - you know how to bring stakeholders along.
• Innovation drives you: you keep a close eye on market developments and know what is relevant for Sif.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of experience in industrial automation or OT, including at least 3 years in an architecture role.
• Knowledge of PLC platforms (including Siemens), SCADA systems, ThingWorx/PTC, Kepware, OPC-UA, Profinet, Modbus, and/or MQTT.
• Experience with Industrial IoT platforms, Azure, API integrations, Historian environments, and network components (including Cisco, Mikrotik, Siemens, Fortigate).

• Salary: Between €5,700 and €8,500 gross (scale 13) per month (based on 40 hours).
• Time off: 25 vacation days + 13 ADV days (based on 40 hours).
• Travel allowance: €0.23 per kilometre.
