Job description

You will work at the intersection of software engineering, developer experience, platform engineering and AI-assisted development. The goal is to connect Copilot with enterprise context such as coding standards, SDK guidelines, internal documentation and architectural principles to help developers achieve better outcomes.

This is not a training-only role. You will build the technical enablement layer around Copilot, including integrations, prompt guidance, automated workflows and tooling that ensures generated code aligns with organizational requirements for security, observability and design. Additionally, you will serve as a developer advocate, driving adoption through workshops, practical content and community enablement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement patterns that optimize Copilot usage for developer productivity and architectural compliance
  • Integrate Copilot with enterprise context sources including Backstage metadata, SDK guides and documentation systems
  • Build and maintain MCP-based integrations to deliver relevant suggestions aligned with policy and architecture
  • Create reusable repository instructions, prompt guidance and enablement materials for multiple technology stacks
  • Ensure outputs from Copilot adhere to internal coding standards, platform services and security guidelines
  • Enable platform owners to maintain and update Copilot assets to ensure scalability
  • Develop automation and tooling to embed Copilot support into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows
  • Gather feedback and usage insights to refine enablement strategies and improve adoption metrics
  • Organize workshops and run technical coaching sessions to promote responsible AI-assisted development

Requirements

  • Strong background in software engineering with knowledge of modern development practices and maintainable code design
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-coding tools including prompt and instruction management
  • Practical experience using GitHub-based workflows including pull requests, code review and GitHub Actions
  • Ability to integrate engineering tools with internal platforms and APIs
  • Knowledge of platform engineering and developer experience principles
  • Ability to translate architectural, security and operational standards into actionable guidance
  • Experience running enablement programs through documentation, workshops and hands-on sessions
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with developers, architects and platform teams
  • Proactive approach to designing scalable enablement strategies using metrics and feedback

Nice to have

  • Experience with enterprise languages such as Java, C#, TypeScript or Python
  • Familiarity with Backstage or similar developer portals and metadata catalogs
  • Exposure to Copilot customization including custom agents, MCP servers or AGENTS.md guidance
  • Understanding of internal developer platforms, golden paths and SDK standardization
  • Knowledge of secure AI-assisted development practices and compliance requirements
  • Ability to produce enablement content such as playbooks, templates and onboarding materials
