Job description

A Maximo Data Engineer specializes in transferring legacy asset maintenance data into IBM Maximo or Maximo Application Suite (MAS), ensuring data integrity, data mapping and translations, development of validation routines and performing in-depth and meticulous data validation, SQL development, and Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) activities while also providing application support for customer help desk requests. They lead ETL processes, define migration strategies, and configure loading templates for large-scale EAM system implementations and migrations. This role offers a diverse mix of project implementation work and Maximo production support for our customers, allowing team members to continually expand their technical knowledge across multiple industries and client environments.

Be a key cog in our project and support teams. We are looking for a versatile, US-based Maximo Data Engineer who is legally authorized to work in the United States to join our high-energy team. Polaris Solutions is unable to provide employer-sponsored work visas for this position. In this role, you aren’t just sitting in a cube-farm processing data; you are working with our project and support teams, engaging with our clients and other technical resources, and developing strategies and solutions to execute data mapping and migration to achieve client and project scope delivery success. Every week brings new technical problems to solve - from complex SQL data conversions and integrations to troubleshooting live production environments. You’ll have opportunities to work with experienced consultants, grow your technical expertise, and make a meaningful impact for customers across multiple industries.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:

¡ Perform data analysis, cleansing, transformation, and validation for IBM Maximo projects.

¡ Develop SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support data conversions and reporting.

¡ Import and update data using Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), MXLoader, and IFACETABLE.

¡ Create and maintain object structures and assist with integration troubleshooting.

¡ Validate converted data and resolve data integrity issues.

¡ Support implementation, upgrade, and migration projects.

¡ Investigate and resolve customer help desk tickets related to IBM Maximo.

¡ Troubleshoot application issues, data problems, security, and configuration questions.

¡ Work directly with customers to gather requirements and communicate technical solutions.

¡ Document solutions, conversion processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

¡ Collaborate with senior consultants, developers, and project managers.

¡ Participate in testing, deployment activities, and occasional production support.

Requirements

  • Orientation and Focus: US-based and legally authorized to work in the United States, who is self-motivated and dependable, with strong problem-solving ability, excellent attention to detail, and comfortable learning new technologies.
  • Communication Excellence: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to Polaris-internal project team members and non-technical client stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Quality Over Quantity: A detail-oriented mindset and a strong work ethic; prioritizing proactively approaching challenges and solving problems correctly the first time.
  • Adaptability: You are a self-starter who excels in a remote environment, independently and collaboratively within a consulting team, with a customer-focused attitude., * 3-5 years of experience supporting data mapping, data transformation, and data migration from both Maximo and non-Maximo systems into Maximo versions 7.x and Maximo Application Suite (MAS) version 9.x.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area of study.

¡ Industry domain knowledge of asset-intensive industries such as Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Facilities Management, or Transportation.
