Application Analyst

Professional work that performs or assists in the planning, analysis and implementation of information technology systems. Consults with business users to determine technology/application system requirements. May provide technical advice and counsel to less experienced analysts.

This job is for an application coder/developer. The applicate will need to have experience with programming languages. Examples: sql, html, Java, JavaScript, C#

Knowledge of Oracle EBS, .net, OAF are a plus., Proficient - Working understanding of the required competencies, both proficient and advanced skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully apply them under general supervision.

Proficient knowledge of:

• Information systems analysis, design, programming and installation.
• Programming languages and coding techniques.
• Computer hardware, software and data communications functionality and capability.
• Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables and tools.
• Basic process management, performance tracking and measurement tools.
• Information Technology Library Infrastructure (ITIL) framework and best practices.

Proficient skill in:

• Designing and developing seamless connections between systems.

Advanced skill in:

• Using the Technology Services change management process.
• Using and supporting various client based applications.
• Testing application installations, enhancements and upgrades.

Proficient ability to:

• Set priorities and establish a systematic course of action to ensure accomplishment of objectives on time and within budget.
• Deal with some ambiguity and make decisions with limited information.
• Exercise creativity and imagination in approaching assignments.
• Quickly grasp new ideas and concepts.
• Work well within a team and assist others with their assignments.
• Acquire and maintain basic knowledge of the business of JEA and Technology Services products.
• Research and acquire knowledge of developing information technology trends and emerging technologies.

OPEN REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Development/Engineering or similar degree and two (2) years’ experience in the specific discipline or application being recruited. OR Six (6) year combination of education, training and experience.
