Job description
We are seeking a Principal Digital Engineer to support advanced digital system design and verification for safety-critical development programs. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives through the use of Model-Based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices while developing next-generation navigation, video, and cockpit products.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, innovative, and team-oriented engineer with strong expertise in digital design, verification, and hardware development. This individual will work closely with program leads, senior scientists, engineering teams, and manufacturing organizations throughout the product lifecycle., * Design, develop, and verify digital systems for safety-critical aerospace and defense applications.
- Support FPGA, ASIC, and SoC implementation activities, including design, synthesis, and timing closure.
- Perform high-speed digital design and verification activities.
- Develop and maintain hardware requirements, conceptual designs, detailed designs, and verification processes.
- Support hardware development from initial design through production transition.
- Apply appropriate engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to support next-generation navigation, video, and cockpit systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and program leadership.
- Promote innovation, automation, continuous improvement, and effective engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or:
- Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
- PhD in a STEM field with 1+ year of relevant experience.
- Experience with high-speed digital design and verification.
- Experience with FPGA, SoC, or ASIC implementation, including:
- VHDL/Verilog
- Synthesis
- Timing closure
- Experience with digital hardware development processes, including:
- Hardware requirements definition
- Conceptual design
- Detailed design
- Verification
- Production transition
- Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA., * Experience with verification technologies, including:
- SystemVerilog
- Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
- Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL)
- Knowledge of computer architecture, including:
- Bus standards
- Interrupts
- Memory architectures
- Experience with Model-Based Engineering tools:
- MATLAB
- Simulink
- Fixed-point vs. floating-point design
- Experience with sensors and digital signal processing.
- Cost Account Management (CAM) certification or experience.
- Experience with safety-critical hardware development and DO-254 compliance.
- Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and team-building skills.
