Field Installation Technician

We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Field Installation Technician to install and configure AI-powered sensors and computing devices in senior living facilities across the US.

The work is straightforward but important: you’ll drill and mount hardware on walls and ceilings, run cables (sometimes behind walls), configure devices through a mobile app, and make sure everything is working before you leave the site. A typical room takes about 30 minutes to install. A typical site might take several days depending on size.

This is a travel-heavy, field-based role. You will fly to customer sites across the country, manage your own schedule and logistics, and coordinate directly with facility staff to get installations done on time and with minimal disruption. You’ll often be working independently, and you need to be someone who can be trusted to get it done right without someone looking over your shoulder.

Just as important as the technical work: you’ll be working inside care environments with elderly residents and busy staff. You need to be respectful, professional, and easy to work with. The facilities trust us to be in their buildings, and that trust starts with you., * Mount sensors and computing devices on walls and ceilings, drilling and securing hardware for optimal placement and coverage.

• Run and manage cabling, including routing cables behind walls where required.
• Configure installed devices using a mobile app and verify that systems are online and transmitting data correctly.
• Conduct pre-installation site surveys: review floor plans, assess room layouts, check power and network availability, and plan installation approach.
• Travel nationwide to customer sites, booking your own flights, hotels, and rental cars. Manage your schedule to meet deployment timelines across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with facility administrators, nursing staff, and IT teams to schedule work with minimal disruption to residents and care operations.
• Manage the full installation workflow from arrival to sign-off with the site contact.
• Track hardware inventory, manage shipping and receiving of equipment to job sites, and keep accurate records of what’s been deployed where.
• Troubleshoot issues on-site. When something isn’t working, figure it out - and if you can’t, escalate clearly with the details needed to get it resolved.
• Document your work: installation records, site-specific notes, and anything that helps improve the process for next time.
• Light project management: coordinate timelines across sites, communicate status to the team, flag risks early.

• Experience with hands-on installation work: mounting hardware, drilling, basic carpentry, cable management. You’re comfortable with power tools and working on ladders.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time across the continental US, including multi-day trips. You should be near a major airport.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a background check (required for access to care facilities).
• Basic comfort with networking: connecting devices to Wi-Fi, troubleshooting a connection that isn’t working. You don’t need to be an IT engineer, but you shouldn’t be afraid of a router.
• Experience working in or around senior living, healthcare, or other sensitive environments is strongly preferred. You understand that you’re a guest in someone’s home.
• Self-directed and reliable. You manage your own schedule, show up when you say you will, and deliver quality work without being micromanaged.
• Good communication skills. You’ll coordinate with facility staff, update the team on progress, and flag problems clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience with low-voltage wiring or cabling.
• Prior experience installing cameras, AV equipment, or IoT devices.
• Experience working in a startup or small company environment - and at least an understanding for the challenges new companies face.
• Any trade certifications related to installation work., You’re the kind of person who shows up, does the job well, and treats people right. You’re comfortable being on the road, working independently, and figuring things out in the field. You take pride in clean, quality work. You don’t need someone telling you what to do every day - you plan your week, get on the plane, and get it done.
