The Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity consists of 16 tenured and tenure-track faculty members (including 2 adjoint faculty), 24 fixed-term track faculty members, and over 35 part-time adjunct instructors, supporting an enrollment of 2500+ students. We offer undergraduate degrees in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, and Applied Cyber Analytics; minors in digital forensics, cybersecurity, information systems, and network and data center management; graduate degrees in Information Technology (with an optional concentration in Cybersecurity and Cyber Analytics), and Data Analytics (in partnership with the Statistics & Data Science department); and a PhD degree in Information Technology with concentrations in traditional information systems, cybersecurity, and analytics/artificial intelligence.
The department maintains strong collaborations with prominent university and college research centers and hubs, including UT San Antonio’s National Security Collaboration Center, Center of Data Science, the Cyber Manufacturing Innovation Institute, the Institute for Cyber Security, the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security, the MATRIX AI Consortium, and the Open Cloud Institute. Faculty have access to state-of-the-art research laboratory resources and high-performance computing resources., The Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity is seeking a Lecturer in the area of cybersecurity, data analytics, digital forensics, network security, and telecommunications and networking.
Lecturers are expected to ensure key learning objectives identified by the department chair and course coordinator are met through classroom instruction and instructional materials. Instructors may personalize their course’s curriculum to capitalize on their subject matter expertise. Critical thinking and experiential learning should feature prominently in each course., * Resume/CV which must outline relevant job experience providing subject matter expertise in the classes they feel qualified/interested in teaching, relevant professional certifications, and past collegiate level teaching experience with course number, name, and institution.

This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
Requirements
Lecturer, * Master’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Digital Forensics, or a related field relative to courses of interest and five years of teaching and/or work experience in one or more of the areas of specialization including cybersecurity, data analytics, digital forensics, network security, and telecommunications and networking.
- This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in information systems, information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, analytics or a related field.
- Terminal degree for graduate course instruction due to accreditation requirements., This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
Benefits & conditions
Salary Range: $5,000 per course, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
