Job description

Insight Global is looking for a CI Poly Research & Development Engineer in Fort Meade. o support advanced cybersecurity research and development efforts focused on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across complex cyberspace systems. This role supports mission-critical operations through hands-on vulnerability analysis, threat research, and evaluation of emerging technologies in secure environments., Conduct advanced cybersecurity research to identify and evaluate vulnerabilities in software, hardware, firmware, and network-based systems

Perform threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and cybersecurity risk assessments to identify attack vectors and system weaknesses

Evaluate security posture across operating systems, applications, networks, and enterprise systems

Research and analyze emerging technologies and evolving cyber threats impacting mission and enterprise environments

Utilize cybersecurity tools to conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, monitoring, and incident analysis

Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to develop mitigation strategies and recommend security improvements

Prepare and deliver technical documentation, risk assessments, and research reports for stakeholders and leadership

Contribute to innovation initiatives and support the advancement of cyber research and development capabilities

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a senior-level cybersecurity engineer or researcher with strong analytical skills, deep technical knowledge across software, hardware, firmware, and networks, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and leadership stakeholders., * Active Top-Secret SCI clearance with CI Polygraph completed within the last 6 years

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or associates degree and 2 additional years of experience or no degree with 4 additional years of experience)
  • 7-15 years of experience in as a Pen Tester, doing cybersecurity research, cyber engineering, vulnerability analysis, or related technical disciplines
  • Experience with C and C+-Experience with Python
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating software, hardware, firmware, and network systems for security vulnerabilities
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, network protocols, and application security principles
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as:

Vulnerability scanners

Penetration testing frameworks

Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools

  • Experience performing threat modeling, cybersecurity risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience documenting technical findings and presenting recommendations Preferred Experience

Knowledge of or experience with emerging cybersecurity technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and Internet of Things (IoT) security

Experience supporting R&D or innovation-focused cybersecurity programs
