Job description

Job Summary: The Data Management & Technology Specialist will manage the technology systems related to the academic operations of the college, mainly the student information system. This highly collaborative work includes inputting data and ensuring accuracy, training end-users, and creating and maintaining workflows., * Manage all system clean-up, set-up, and configurations related to academic terms, academic programs, degree audit, degree pathways, registration, and student enrollment in the student information system.

  • Translate end-user experience with the student information system into operable processes and solutions in conjunction with the Registrar’s Office, Enrollment Management, and Information Systems Department.
  • Conduct analysis and audits of data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Create and maintain configuration guides, naming conventions, and guides.
  • Interface with financial aid and business office to ensure proper configuration and implementation of programs and student enrollments.
  • Provide training for campus departments on usage of the student information system as it pertains to the management of academic records.
  • Interface with the Provost’s Office to ensure configuration of the system and development of the curriculum within the bounds of LBC protocols and the student information system software design and other academic related software.
  • Manage technology solutions for items like curriculum management and scheduling.
  • Translate end-user experience with the technology solutions into operable process and solutions in conjunction with related departments.
  • Provide training for campus departments on usage of academic software.
  • Maintain accurate information between the student information system and external documents like website, student communication, forms, registration guides, catalogs, and handbooks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in data management, mathematic, or related field.
  • Experience in working in student information systems, particularly in configuration.
  • Experience in higher education preferred., * Ability to think strategically and critically.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a project management environment.
  • Evidence of goal-oriented performance and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to short-term and long-range plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple departments.
  • Ability to generate multiple solutions and identify pros/cons.
  • Familiarity with systems used in an academic environment, such as Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, Academic Catalog Systems, and Curriculum Systems.
